Return to School

September 4, 2020

Dear Parent / Guardians

We are now back four days and doing very well.  The children seem to be settled and happy.

Over the post month huge cleaning has happened in the school.  We have replaced some flooring and employed a company to ‘deep clean’ every area of the school.  Sanitisers are available at all entrances / exits and in each classroom.

Extra cleaning is being carried out each day in the school (in total amounts to 5 hours).  We are awaiting delivery of a ‘fogger’ machine which disinfects after cleaning.  This will be used each evening after the cleaning regime has been carried out.

The children are in a routine of washing and sanitising regularly and this is going well.

From Monday 7th September, Junior Infants will come in from 9.10am to 9.30am.  All other children will continue to enter the school from 9.10am to 9.30am.  We would ask that no child enters the school yard before 9.10am as doors will only be opened at 9.10am.  Supervision of children starts at 9.10am.

Due to present restrictions at the moment we will not have Helen (our music teacher) or Damien (our GAA coach) attending the school.  We hope to review this situation after the November break.  We therefore ask that you do not send in ‘music costs’ presently.

Tracksuit days will be on Thursday and Friday of each week.

Our reviewed costs for this year are €40 per family.  This covers Art/Craft/photocopying/envelopes/stamps/textaparent/miscellaneous.

It is particularly important this year that we purchase individual art items for each classroom as they cannot be shared among classes.  In fact items like paintbrushes have to be bought for the individual child as sharing is not allowed.

24 hour pupil insurance (optional) is €9, forms have been sent home in school bags.

Home work Diaries are available from the school for €4.

This money can be paid directly to the school bank account, you will find details below.  This is due by 30th September.  It is important that you reference your child’s name or surname with the payment.  If you are not set up on online banking, please place money in an envelope with your child’s name on and put it in their school bag.

Our new website is live now and we would like you to check it out at www.rosegreen.ie. A huge thanks you to Ms. Morrissey for the work she has but into this project over the past few months.

Please make sure all your contact details are up to date. (Contact Elaine in the office if you need to update same.  Office phone 062 61938 or email office@rosegreenns.ie.)

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued co operation particularly in these Covid times.
