The Parents Association (PA) works with the principal, staff and the board of management to build effective partnership of home and school.
The Education Act, 1998 sets down the role of the parent association. It is a support for parents of children attending the school. The PA can advise the principal and Board of Management on policy issues and incidents that may require a review of school policy, e.g. Bullying, Safety, Homework, Enrolment, Behaviour problems etc. The PA can also suggest and/or organise extra-curricular activities.
At Rosegreen NS, the PA has an active role, working closely with staff and management of the school. A wide range of fundraising and charitable events are organized throughout the school year and with the generosity of parents and the wider community, it has excelled in raising vital funds.
These funds are used to purchase sporting equipment, educational aids for the classroom.
All of these investments complement the efforts of the teaching staff at Rosegreen NS, ensuring the continued wellbeing and development of all children.
If you wish to become actively involved in the association, please contact any member of the PA committee.
The current Parents Association Committee is as follows: Denise O’Brien – Chairperson, Joanne Hickey – Secretary, Lorie Henderson – Treasurer.
